Efficiency against SARS-CoV-2

In April 2020, "48th Central Research Institute" of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation evaluated the "Yanex-2M" and "Yanex-5M" units' disinfection efficiency on metal surfaces contaminated with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

Metal surfaces were positioned at 2-meters’ distance from the “Yanex-2M” unit and at 1.5-meters’ distance from the “Yanex-5M”. For the research, the reference SARS-CoV-2 virus culture (isolate dated March 16, 2020 with biological potency 5.8∙106 PFU∙ml-1) was used. The efficiency of all disinfection modes of the units, intended for surfaces decontamination, was tested.

The research results:

1.      The “Yanex-2M” unit at 2-meters' distance disinfects the surfaces contaminated with SARS-CoV-2 within 2minutes with 99.98 % efficiency in the “Bacteria” mode; within 3 minutes with 100 % efficiency in the “Spores” mode; and within 6.5 minutes with 100 % efficiency in the “Tuberculosis and fungi” mode;

2.      The “Yanex-5M” unit at 1.5-meters' distance disinfects the surfaces contaminated with SARS-CoV-2 within 3 minutes and 39 seconds with 99.99 % efficiency in the “Bacteria” mode; within 6 minutes and 45 seconds with 100 % efficiency in the “Spores” mode; and within 14 minutes and 3 seconds with 100 % efficiency in the “Tuberculosis and fungi” mode.

The obtained results allow for recommending the pulsed ultraviolet units’ use for surfaces disinfection as part of epidemiological response to combat the coronavirus infection spread.

Export models "Yanex" of pulsed ultraviolet units correlate with the “Alfa” units.

The units of Yanex series have a special COVID-19 disinfection mode, intended for the surfaces contaminated with SARS-CoV-2 and having a 50-percents’ treatment time margin.

Export models of pulsed ultraviolet units Yanex are successfully deployed to combat COVID-19 in South Africa, Italy, Ireland, Israel for disinfection of stationary and field hospitals, medevac helicopters, ambulance cars and many others.

Disinfection at South African hospitals and ambulance decontamination in South Africa

Netcare (RSA) has published the Media release “Germ destroying robots come into their own amid COVID-19 outbreak”. 28 pulsed ultraviolet units are successfully operating at 22 Netcare sites. The mobile units Yanex-2M are used at hospitals for disinfecting over 300 rooms daily with help of only one unit operating 24 hours a day; the more compact and mobile version Yanex-5 is used to quickly disinfect road and air ambulances and emergency vehicles.
